Ghana: New infographic highlighting the achievements of the PEACE PROTECT project
We are pleased to publish this infographic which presents the main achievements of the project to prevent violent extremism and support peace in the northern border regions of Ghana (PEACE PROTECT), funded by the European Union and implemented by Coginta, which was completed earlier this year.
The project's objective was to prevent socio-economic, environmental and political destabilization of northern regions of Ghana by strengthening the capacities of governmental and non-governmental actors in their concerted efforts to maintain peace and contain the rise of violent extremism in crisis-prone areas.
Building on the lessons learned and infrastructure established under PEACE PROTECT, the “EU for a Secure Ghana – Specific Objective 3” project, part of a European Union program, began last March. Its aim is to consolidate and expand proven, locally rooted approaches that strengthen institutional capacities and community resilience, and promote sustainable and inclusive conflict prevention.
