We are pleased to publish this infographic which presents the main achievements of the AP projectthen to the securing and prevention of terrorist risks in the north of Côte d'Ivoire (SECUNORD), financed by the European Union and implemented by Coginta, which ended last year.

The objectives of the project were to improve public security, strengthen the bond of trust between the population and the national gendarmerie, and promote social cohesion and the prevention of intercommunity conflicts in the Bounkani region.To this end, the project provided infrastructure support to strengthen the territorial network of the national gendarmerie, also supplemented by the acquisition of rolling stock and specialized equipment and materials. Technical training was provided to improve the effectiveness of gendarmes' interventions in terms of daily public security and terrorism prevention, particularly in the areas of intelligence and judicial police.

In order to strengthen local security governance in the Bounkani region, support was provided to decentralized local authorities and civil-military cells with the aim of promoting social cohesion, preventing conflicts and promoting co-production of security with non-state actors, particularly youth and women's groups.
